We are not Catholic. Will I be taking religion courses?
Yes. All students are required to take theology every year, and both Catholic students and non-Catholics have an equal opportunity to succeed. These classes provide the necessary foundation for a system of values by which our graduates may guide their lives. All students participate in our four year retreat program as well as monthly Masses.
I am worried that if I come to Alter I will have trouble making new friends. Is it difficult to meet new people?
Many students enter Alter knowing only a handful of students from their school so all students are in the position of having to make new friends. All incoming freshman are matched with a Big Brother/Big Sister through Campus Ministry. Every year students participate in an orientation process designed to help with the transition to Alter. In large part, students make friends through extra-curricular activities, athletic and intramural programs.
