Introduction to Blackboard

Blackboard is software that allows instructors to easily place course materials online and a communication tool that allows instructors and students to collaborate in new and exciting ways.

Parents can view the Blackboard Learning Management System by going to clicking the Blackboard icon on any page of our website.

Your ID is alt_(student's number)p:  alt_11103p.

Your Password is the student number and p only:  11103p.

If you have any problems accessing Blackboard, email Beth Budd , Technology Coordinator, or Jeff Morris , Network Administrator.

Please type "Blackboard Access" in the subject line of your email. In the message give your student's name, grade and student number.

From the Guidance Department

Because guidance services will be important to you during your years at Alter High School, we will schedule meetings with all freshmen in small groups during the school year. At that meeting we will talk about the importance of grades, your transcript (GPA, classes, etc.), the many activities/clubs that are available, as well as other transitional issues. In addition, if you have any questions or concerns at any time throughout the year, come to the Guidance Office to make an appointment to see your guidance counselor or sign up on the sheets outside their offices at any time throughout the year.

Taylor College Resource Center in Room 208

Freshman year is a good time to become acquainted with the Taylor Center. In this room you can get information to help you prepare for the OGT, PSAT, SAT, ACT and more. You may also find information on colleges and careers with the programs available. Stop in to see Mrs. Petrello. She will get you signed up and teach you how to log in from school and from home.
