Alter
High School offers a comprehensive, college prep, curriculum that
exceeds state requirements and meets the entrance requirements of the
most distinguished colleges in the country. Under the guidance of an
outstanding faculty, our rigorous and innovative curriculum prepares
our students to meet the challenges of college and the world of work in
the 21st century.
In addition to the core courses and numerous
electives in the arts, music and business, each student at Alter High
School engages required Theology courses which explore the Catholic
faith and empower the students to express their faith.

100% passage rate on the Ohio Graduation Test
The class of 2008 received over $6,600,000 in scholarship awards
In 2008, 255 scholarships were offered to 118 seniors or 72% of the class received scholarships

of the Class of 2008 are attending 43 colleges and universities in 15
states - 98% are enrolled in 4-year programs; 1% are enrolled in 2-year
programs
Average ACT score for Alter students is a 24.4 compared to the national average of 21.1
Average SAT score (Math, Critical Reading, Writing) for Alter students is a 1660 compared to the national average of 1511
In
the Class of 2008, we had 5 National Merit Scholars (1 Finalist; 4
Commended). In the Class of 2009, we have 6 National Merit Scholars (3
Semi-Finalists pending Finalist standing; 3 Commended)
