Visit with Us
So, you think you might want to attend Alter, but you're not sure. Well, now's your chance to get the inside scoop on a typical day inside Alter! We have a "spend a day" program specifically designed to give eighth grade students a firsthand "feel" of what it is like to be an Alter Knight. Of course, transfer students are welcome to spend a day as well.
What do you need to do?
Find out if a day has been reserved for your school. Then call the Admissions Office at 428-5394 or fill out the Visitor Form at least 48 hours in advance to schedule your visit. On the day of your visit day, you should arrive at Alter at 8:15 a.m. Please use the doors by the Knight.
What happens next?
You will gather with our other guests for juice and donuts and meet your Alter Tour Guide. Usually we will choose your Alter host. If you have a particular student you wish to spend the day with, please be sure to let us know when you call to set up your visit. At 8:45 a.m., you will be off to start your day!
What should you do to make the most of the day?
Ask questions! Ask about classes, clubs, sports, activities, dances, service and anything else. Participation in the classroom is encouraged.
What about lunch?
A complimentary lunch will be provided for you.
What should you wear?
Dress for success. That means dress pants or khakis and a polo type shirt or sweater. But please, no jeans, sweats or T-shirts.
What should you expect of this visit?
Expect a great time, a lot of information, a chance to really check out the school for yourself and meet students, teachers and other terrific Alter people.
When does the day end?
Your day will end at 2:30 p.m. You will be picked up at the same place you were dropped off in the morning by the Knight.
What if I cannot visit on the day reserved for my school?
First be sure to check with your grade school regarding the policy for visitation days. Then call the Admissions Office at 428-5394 to schedule a visit or fill out the Visitor Form here.
