According to the Code of Regulations of the Archdiocese of Cincinnati, "The Alter High School Board of Trustees is established to act as a decision-making group, responsible for the governance of Alter High School in the best interest of the school, stakeholders, and the Archdiocese." In this form of governance the Archdiocese shares its authority over Alter High School and delegates the decision-making process to the Board of Trustees in matters of policy and strategic planning for the future, reserving to the Archdiocese matters of identity, mission, and Catholicity.
What is the difference between the President and the Principal?
If we can use the business model to clarify the distinction, as the President is the CEO of the school, the Principal is the COO and the Director of Finance is the CFO. The Principal works for the President in the administration and the management of the school, in the areas of academics, spirituality, athletics, discipline, technology, etc. The role of the President is strategic by nature, the role of the Principal is more operational.
